Jamie has been in Toastmasters since 2013 and has participated in numerous public speaking events. But he’s really been a talker for much, much longer. Working in IT support for nearly 20 years, he’s had plenty of experiences meeting many new people and friends.
At the beginning of the new world in 2020, Jamie began an online show on a popular social media site, along with two friends. His show was the answer to the unrealized question presented to him in March of 2020: What do friends, who are social butterflies, do when they are told they can no longer be around people for the foreseeable future?
The answer: The Social UnDistancing Show! It was the idea of being able to hang out with friends and meet new people as well. His show would go live five nights a week where he would interview people that needed a spotlight shun on them. For viewers to disconnect from the state of the world, for just an hour, and have a good time hearing stories and laughing.
Fast forward to December of 2020 and Jamie’s TSUDS Productions, The Social UnDistancing Show and spin-offs, Sandy Talks Sheet, and The Strange Connections Show, has a total of seven hosts, with more in the works, and broadcast over 200 individual web shows. He also assisted in raising over $1500 with the show’s viewer’s contributions to raise money for gifts to go to children in the foster care system. And 2021 does not show any signs of slowing down.

Talk Summary: I didn’t mean to start a show
What was my unintended knowledge gained in 2020? Stepping out of my comfort zone and starting a live web show on social media. And not realizing the impact that decision would have on the world!
1. Getting out of a comfort zone
2. Meet new and old people
3. Make an impact on people’s lives
