“Exploring the Implications of Biophilia on Recreation Programming, Learning, and Workplace Design”
Research into biophilia has provided valuable insights into addressing several pressing issues in today’s world including hyper productivity, attention restoration, environmental advocacy, learning, and even the way we approach leisure and recreation! Biophilia has been a central focus of much of my research throughout my graduate studies. My work in this area has not only deepened my understanding of the concept, but has provided me with valuable opportunities, including participation in the Illinois State University Research Symposium as well as the publication of an article on Biophilia featured in the National Recreation and Park Association Magazine.

I am a recent graduate of Illinois State with a Master’s Degree in Recreation Administration. I am extremely passionate about utilizing sport and recreation to build community and inspire social change. This passion has led me to organizing community-wide play events, working as a Restorative Specialist, and writing articles on issues impacting recreation, with my article on Biophilia being featured in the National Recreation and Park Association! I also am the owner of a clothing brand dedicated to bringing awareness to the importance of recreation through art and fashion
