“Everything I learned about tech business started over a lap dance”

The data is clear–teams with high psychological safety outperform their peers across every metric, but we can’t create that safety when leaders themselves are operating from fear and image management. This is especially true for women, who will continue leaving tech at alarming rates because they’re exhausted from trying to fit into systems that were never designed for them. Organizations will keep losing their most innovative thinkers because creativity requires vulnerability, and vulnerability requires safety that shame-driven leadership can’t provide.

About

Jaime is a Growth Catalyst and Value-Creation Architect who has spent more than two decades helping global organizations turn ambition into results during moments of complexity, disruption, and reinvention. As a senior revenue executive and former Chief Revenue Officer, she has led commercial transformations across technology, hospitality, private equity, and enterprise IT services—where the stakes are high and execution matters.

After years of building and leading high-performing teams, Jaime came to understand the most critical constraint to sustainable growth isn’t operational—it’s human.

Today, Jaime is Field CRO at RapidScale, a Cox Business Services company, as well as an executive coach, motivational speaker, and retreat leader devoted to helping leaders create growth from the inside out. She designs transformational retreats that integrate nourishment, embodiment, and courageous truth-telling—supporting leaders in reconnecting with themselves so they can lead with clarity, integrity, and wholeness.

Her work bridges value creation and self-preservation, reminding us that the most powerful leaders don’t extract more from themselves—they learn how to fuel what matters most. She is the author of the #1 bestseller Dealmaker and writes The Messy Middle, a biweekly newsletter, and is best known for delivering soul-stirring keynote talks and workshops that help audiences reconnect to their inner fire and rise without losing their soul.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxNormal, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxNormal event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
